Jeanne Marie Iorio

Associate Professor in Early Childhood Education

Jeanne Marie Iorio is an Associate Professor in Early Childhood Education at the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Education and an internationally recognised leader in innovative, research-informed teaching practices. She specializes in Learning with Place©, grounded in the image of children as capable and contributing, and teaching as meaning-making and co-participatory. With her expertise, Jeanne Marie empowers teachers to transform ordinary moments into extraordinary teaching experiences that are responsive to students’ needs and interests.

Catherine Hamm

Associate Professor

Catherine Hamm is an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Education and a highly respected educator and researcher in early childhood pedagogy, inclusive and culturally responsive teaching, and Learning with Place©. She is known for her ability to engage meaningfully with diverse cultural perspectives, including indigenous worldviews, and for empowering teachers to create strong connections between children, their communities, and the wider world. Catherine’s work enables educators to design inclusive, impactful learning environments that inspire curiosity and a sense of belonging.
